Rappy drops more materials & grinders?

It's sort of true, simply because Rappies have 100% DAR, so they drop items 2-3x more often than most other enemies. They don't have a higher tool rate than other enemies; you're just more likely to get something, instead of nothing.

Future of PSO (Community and Rates)

The way the client's designed doesn't really allow for this, though. Monster and item stats are sent when you launch the game, and lots of values are hardcoded, so there's currently no such thing as per-ship gameplay rules. You're never going to be able to get servers to merge when they have...

Future of PSO (Community and Rates)

Well, 95% vanilla. General/Arm++ wants to help you equip your Railgun, but he is nowhere to be found. ._.

The metagame, a guide for better play.

As originally discussed in that thread, he was using the first hit of his combo, so he probably just glitched the attack by mistake. Besides, he's using the purei calculator, which is not a reliable source of information. It's possible that the original chance to hit was not 0% in the first...

The metagame, a guide for better play.

The OP of that thread is wrong, though. x) SmartLink doesn't add bonus ATA as you get farther away from an enemy: it prevents that ATA from being removed by the distance penalty and allows you to attack with 100% ATA from any distance, as is the case with Rangers by default.

    Adding features

You're joking, right? You're talking about programming an entirely separate game from scratch and somehow grafting it into the existing PSO client without source code.

Singer for Can Still See the Light

She's listed as "LOREN" in the credits, but I didn't expect that there would be a public record of who she is. Thanks for finding that!

    Quick question - Quick answer

HP drain and regeneration work differently. HP drain is tied to movement, while regeneration is on a fixed timer, regardless of what you're doing. The two won't line up perfectly, but they will more or less cancel each other out over time (HP -1, HP +1, HP -1, HP +1). Depending upon which one...

Playing this game on an old computer with a crappy Pentium D processor.

It could be. We're talking about Sega's programming skills, after all. BB always took 100% CPU on my Pentium 4 (50% with HT enabled).

Playing this game on an old computer with a crappy Pentium D processor.

This game is incredibly CPU intensive for the hardware of the time. BB has a bug that makes it consume 100% CPU at all times for no reason, so on CPUs of the early 2000s that have only one core, BB takes all of your CPU resources and generates a lot of heat. I had to quit BB in 2010 because the...

Playing this game on an old computer with a crappy Pentium D processor.

I never had any slowdown using an AGP GeForce 6800. Assuming your PC has AGP (or maybe first gen PCI-E) you could probably improve the performance.

    Quick question - Quick answer

Attack speed boosts never stack. The highest individual boost is always used.

    PSO with Anti-aliasing (Nvidia Inspector)

PSO's lack of support for multiple GPUs is a separate problem. The simplest solution is to disable the iGPU in the BIOS so PSO doesn't get confused.

    PSO with Anti-aliasing (Nvidia Inspector)

You forgot to mention the OS. ;o BB works fine with DX 9.0c, at least under XP.

(Cosmetic) The ability to have the appearance of other classes

Having other characters see you that way is impossible. In theory you could achieve what you want by replacing e.g. HUcast models and textures with RAcaseal models and textures, but this means you'd see everybody else who uses a HUcast as a RAcaseal, too. Arbitrary replacements are probably not...

Anyone from the old SEGA Forums?

Sega fixed that in PSO PC, so it's very likely that you can't shrink in the lobby in GC or BB, either.

    PSO with Anti-aliasing (Nvidia Inspector)

If there ever was such a problem, it must not have been around very long. I was able to force AA/AF on PSO PC with an AGP GeForce 6800, and it works on my GTX 760, too.

    Force feedback / rumble support?

The XBCD driver turns the triggers into separate buttons under Windows XP. Microsoft's driver treats them as an axis.
  19. Aleron Ives

    Force feedback / rumble support?

You don't have to use Xinput to "fix" the triggers. PSO sees them as the Z axis with Microsoft's driver, but a third-party driver can enable them as buttons under Windows XP.
  20. Aleron Ives

    Force feedback / rumble support?

Uh, wouldn't the controller not work at all if you were using Xinput? AFAIK BB only works with DirectInput drivers, regardless of which controller you use. If you use an Xinput driver, BB should act like you don't have a controller plugged in at all. I played BB on XP with a DualShock2 that...
