Xbox Ally gamepad setup

Edit: Got logged in! Had to finagle the on screen keyboard to work properly. Now to get the right mapping in game but I think that’ll be easier

So I’m struggling getting past the title screen on my Xbox Ally.

Even opening the on screen keyboard, I can only seem to “select” menu options. Since I need to log into my Ephinea account, I can only enter my username, and can’t seem to select or tab or anything down to the password section.

Tried adding the game to steam as some tutorials suggested, and downloading community gamepad layouts, but nothing seems to work.

Anyone have any luck on the Xbox Ally?

erm, idk anything about the xbox ally. If it uses a windows OS of some kind maybe you could check whats being used as a your default controller? If no controller is seen then that'd be your problem. If the OS doesn't see your controller assigning layouts wont help.

Yea it’s straight up Windows 11 Home running on it. Was thinking it could be a device issue as well but since the game pad is built in, I’m hesitant on disabling anything right away.

Most things like that just have a controller attached to it for looks, its still an attached device that needs assigning. Same with the switch lite and its "built in" joycons. open joy.cpl in run and look what the default input device is. If the xbox ally's controller isn't the first device that needs to be assigned as such.
