Original release Blue Burst was Level 90 for Episode 1, 100 for Episode 2 and 110 for Episode 4 so it was even harsher before than it is now too!

Older versions also did not actually support other languages outside of English or Japanese in any meaningful way, the only thing they did were loosely translate the item descriptions and the word select. Item names, techniques, menus etc were all still in English.

I definitely would not be advocating for removing ANYTHING in that map event section unless you know EXACTLY what it does and what its linked to, removing an Unlock or altering any kind of object in a Sega quest is a recipe for complete disaster and could completely ruin the entire quest given...
