Hi guys, today we added a series of 5 quests:
  • Malicious Uprising #1
  • Malicious Uprising #2
  • Malicious Uprising #3
  • Malicious Uprising #4
  • Malicious Uprising #5
These quests can all be found under Episode 2 > Extermination, and are the Episode 2 equivalent quests of the "Mop-Up Operation" quest series. These quests were all made by GuardianGirth.

We hope you enjoy playing on Ephinea!

The Girth Team added some very thoughtful and amusing dialogue on these, and there's quite a bit of variance between quests, so make sure to speak with all of the Lab and Pioneer 2 NPCs! :D

Edit: Found a few typos and submitted to the quality team.

Thank you Girth and Matt.
I did <Malicious Uprising #1> twice by one person.
Although I failed with timeout, After that the reading continued forever, I forced the program down.

A few people have reported that the quests hang on the loading screen after time runs out :0

Yeah, timeout failure was my bad. It's fixed now. This is what happens when I don't try to be a bit more than a little bit original. :D

No idea how the timer is gaining from using telepipes. I used them quite a bit and never noticed that happening.
Mountain area room IDs have been edited(God damn I fucking hate CCA and Forest room IDs). Just waiting for Matt to throw up the fixes.

They should be fine but If I have to edit them furthermore, I will.

I'm curious about those pipes. The timer function is essentially copied from the existing MU's (because I know it works there). If we must I can just disable piping in and out.

I would hope pipe removal isn't needed, but the quests are short af as is so if it needs doin might as well xD

Played these on my HUmar yesterday:

2MU1: Great temple quest. Design was great and it's probably right up there with 5-4 (even though a lot of people don't like it).
2MU2: Great spaceship quest. Timer makes this fun since everyone has to play and not just let some trashmar carry them
2MU3: Boring but I've never liked this area anyway. Timer makes it bearable.
2MU4: Another good quest, timed quests are so much more fun than regular quests (unless it's Dolmolm lool)
2MU5: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Should have a 7minute timer but I guess that would screw over teams without Demons

I didn't like VR#1 and 2, but these quests more than make up for them. Besides 2MU3 I enjoyed the new quests since timed quests really force the party to play and not just lollygag around, great addition to E2. Now it's time to add a timer/checkpoint system to the snoozefest LMB quest and we'll be golden.

Also forces a "party" :(

Heck I didn't even participate in HBR during the summer event because failing quests due to shitty party sucks ass.

Every quest doesn't need a timer. I'm down for timers that count up (instead of count down) like TTF with extra rewards for clearing fast, though.

Make friends skylar.

Don't want to put in the time and effort to change my reputation tbh.

Much easier to just play by myself. For every nice thing I do, all it takes is for someone to bring up one bad thing from my past to negate like 10 nice things.

Look man, I know how you feel here, but I get along great with this community with a few rare exceptions. I'm sure people will give you a chance. Don't beat yourself up.

LMB is a snoozefest?

Name one Sega quest that did better with the Wilds (non-interior) area. The only reasonable contender I can think of is MA3, and that's a confusing clusterfuck with too many paths and too much backtracking.

Interior LMB is basically a better WoL2. It's a perfect design when one considers the Sega "Hopkins area vs. regular area" formula.

Dolmolm Research is a poorly designed quest because there's too many Deldepths in small rooms. They can "cheat" by leaving the room but you can still be targeted by them. Putting Deldepths in rooms like that should be extremely limited. PW3 has the same issue with that side room. Bad design when they only way to "win" is to exit the room so they respawn. That's not real gameplay. You either have to wear ADR or risk dying to something that you can't fight back against, which is super dumb.

Yeah, POD's wilds are good. I forgot about that quest because there's no reason to play it anymore :3

<_<

Don't get me wrong. I'm happy about that. It's all we did for almost a year, and it needed to be changed. But yeah...forgot it existed prettymuch, xD

I could pretty easily do a straight up countdown timer in quests if there's enough of a demand for it. no time additions, just you have THIS time to finish OR ELSE.
